Season Greetings!
Last year the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) hosted the inaugural staging of the JSE Yuletide Telethon which was successful in raising approximately seventeen (17) million dollars to list three (3) projects on the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE), a subsidiary of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. The projects have utilized well the funds raised and need the additional resources which will allow them to continue their mission by implementing their “Theory of Change” for positive social impact. The Projects listed are:
1. “Stop the Violence Project” a character-building empowerment programme in schools which includes financial literacy training.
2. Choose Life’s “Mental Health & Wellness Project” for communities and is adapted for schools as the SHALOM MOVEMENT- HAPPINESS CLUBS where it’s a life coping skill, youth empowerment tool.
3. “JaMIN Music Entrepreneurship Project” provides at risk youths and young adults an alternative pathway to earning a livelihood by leveraging the rich musical legacy and the brand of Trench Town, the birthplace of Reggae.
The JSE is aiming to raise further the funds needed to facilitate the JSSE’s mandate of mobilizing funding for projects aimed at delivering socio-economic, environmental, and cultural benefits for all stakeholders under the framework of measurement, reporting, and accountability.
As we approach the 2023 Yuletide season, the JSE will be hosting the second staging of JSE Yuletide Telethon on December 15 to 17, 2023 with the goal of raising Forty Million Dollars ($40,000,000) for three projects which are currently short of their funding targets on the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE) platform.
This will allow the projects to continue their mission for positive social impact. Our hope is that in this season of giving, we will be able to win your support for these worthy causes. These projects are intended to have a positive impact on urban renewal and youth development through music, character building, conflict resolution and basic financial literacy training in schools.
The JSSE is a subsidiary of the JSE which is aiming to raise further funding for the projects, based on the JSSE’s mandate of mobilizing funding for projects aimed at delivering socio-economic, environmental, and cultural benefits for all stakeholders, within their framework of accountability, impact measurement and reporting.
We appeal for your financial support for these JSSE selected and listed projects, through this major and exciting telethon event which will be broadcasted in Jamaica on CVM TV and the JSE’s own Cable Channel CBX via FLOW channel –143 and Digicel channel-28 and across the world via the Internet on both websites of the JSE -www.jamstockex.com & the JSSE- www.jsseja.com.
