With Heartfelt Sympathy to All Bereaved – Passing of Greta Bogues

The JSE Group extends its heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends during this time of bereavement. Greta was an integral part of the JSE's Family. It is hard to say goodbye to such an extraordinary, reliable and special colleague who departed without any warning on February 21, 2021.

The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and its subsidiaries – the Jamaica Central Securities Depository (JCSD) and the JCSD Trustee Services – cannot find sufficient words to express the shock and grief being experienced at the sudden passing of our colleague, friend and lecturer, MISS GRETA BOGUES.

Greta was an integral part of the JSE’s Family. She was the Chairman of the JSE/PSOJ Best Practices Corporate Governance, a Subcommittee of the JSE’s Best Practices Awards Committee, a Lecturer at the JSE’s e-Campus, and the Chairman of the JSE’s Corporate Governance Index and Manual Committee.

“A highly respected leader in corporate Jamaica, Greta has contributed immensely to the development of corporate governance policies and procedures which ensure best practices within both listed and unlisted organizations. Her dedication and commitment to excellence set the bar for professionalism and served as an inspiration to all those that had the honour to work with her.  ‘Greta, you have permanently impacted the integrity of the Jamaican market and we thank you for the role that you have played in supporting the growth and development of the JSE Group’.   Rest in peace Greta.” Mr Julian Mair, Chairman, JSE.

JSE’s Managing Director, Mrs. Marlene Street Forrest, expressed the sentiment that “Greta was a professional extraordinaire with a big heart and deep love for Jamaica. For years she provided me with valuable support in so many of the JSE’s plans and programmes. I will personally miss her, and on behalf of the JSE, I wish to thank her family for sharing her with us.”

Professor Neville Ying, Chairman of the JSE’s Best Practices Awards Committee stated that “Greta was professional, objective and passionate in her contributions to the mission of JSE’s Best Practices Awards Committee. Her special expertise in the area of Corporate Governance brought new and invaluable contributions to the international best practices being promoted by the JSE, as being an integral dimension of the operations and practices of our listed companies. I will certainly miss her sterling and consistent contributions and express my sincere condolences to her family.”
