President & Country Head, RBTT Bank Jamaica Limited

 

 

A career banker with over twenty seven years of experience, Minna Israel was appointed President & Country Head of RBTT Bank Jamaica Limited in January, 2008.

 

Highly trained in corporate, commercial and retail banking, Ms. Israel’s negotiating, business development and relationship management skills have resulted in tremendous success in consistently exceeding all financial performance goals.

 

Her strategic leadership skills and strong affinity for sales and service have also contributed to the attainment of profitable growth in the various banking entities in which she has worked.

 

Prior to her appointment at RBTT Bank Jamaica Limited, Ms. Israel spent 3 years as Managing Director of Scotiabank (Bahamas) Limited, leading approximately 700 employees to achieve outstanding results. Previously, she held the position of Executive Vice President and Deputy CEO of The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited.

 

 

 

 

Her exceptional performance and contribution to the wider society has made her the recipient of a number of local, regional and international awards; the latest being the American Foundation of the University of the West Indies (AFUWI) Caribbean Luminary Award for her significant contribution to banking in the Caribbean region over the years.

 

She is a member of the UWI Vice Chancellor Award Selection Committee, the University of the West Indies Capital Development Taskforce, United Way Women’s Leadership Initiative and the Rotary Club of St. Andrew, and was recently appointed Chairman of the Mona School of Business, UWI.

 

In 2006, Ms. Israel was inducted in the UTECH Alumni Hall of Fame.

 

Minna holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and General Management from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, Canada; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, and a Diploma in Business Administration specializing in Banking from the University of Technology.  In 2002, Minna also completed the Executive Program at University of Michigan Business School.

 

Ms. Israel is the seventh woman to be appointed in the RBTT Group to the position of country head, and joins female counterparts in Aruba, Curacao, Grenada, St.Kitts / Nevis, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.
