The extended trading period provided an exciting finish to the 2009-10 season of the Stock Market Game for High Schools. Dexter Smith of Calabar High School displayed exemplary skill to realize a profit of $189,678 in eight months to win the individual prize and to guide his school to become the overall winner.

Defending champion, Calabar High School will be hard pressed to regain the top spot with challenges coming from seasoned teams such as Champion College, St. Hugh’s High, Munro College, Bellefeild High, Kingston College, St. Jago High and Hampton. First timers McGrath High, Old Harbour High, Wolmers High for Girls and St. Catherine High school need to learn fast to challenge the seasoned campaigners when the Game commences on November 8, 2010.
Calabar High School, with a portfolio value of $452,807.36, won last season’s competition. In second place was Bellefield High School whose portfolio stood at $403,921.1. Campion College was third, with Hampton High School and Hillel Academy finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
Dexter Smith of Calabar High School was 1st with a portfolio value of $289,678.47. Second was Shawn Parker of Bellefield High School whose portfolio valued at $254,554.70 and Orane Burke of Calabar placing 3rd with a portfolio value of $163,128.89.
