JSE offers two new courses.

Two new courses on “Derivatives and Fundamental Analysis” and “International Standards In Conduct and Practices” is to be launched by the Jamaica Stock Exchange in May. This is in keeping with the JSE’s mandate to disseminate relevant information to enhance the Jamaican Stock Market as well as our strategy to explore new products.

The workshop on Derivatives and Fundamental Analysis which is a practical, hands-on course is to be conducted by Dr. Alan Anderson, FRM (Financial Risk Manager). Dr. Anderson spent his career in the financial markets working as a risk manager, financial engineer, quantitative fixed income analyst and international economist. He has held senior position at TIAA-CREF, Westdeutsche Landesbank, Market Data Corporation and Reuters.

The workshop on International Best Practices in Industry Conduct and Practices will cover Rules of Conduct; Ethics; Obligation and Confidentiality as well as Industry Best Practices in Professional Selling Skills. It is to be conducted by Ms. Jacqueline Rodney, Senior Manager, Operations of ING Direct Funds Ltd. who has over twenty-five years international experience in compliance operations and securities investigation.

Participants of these courses will earn credits towards Jamaica Stock Exchange’s certification Programme and will also be entitled to discounts on future courses.

The workshop on Derivatives and Fundamental Analysis is to be held from May 25- 26, 2006 and the workshop on International Best Practices in Industry Conduct and Practices will be held on May 30 – 31, 2006. Both courses will be held at the Knutsford Court Hotel from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
