JSE Makes Donation to Mayor

The Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, January 09, 2009, presented His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Desmond McKenzie with a cheque for one million dollars to assist with the repair of Maiden Lane. The Mayor also participated in a “Bell Ringing Ceremony” to open the Stock Market. The Mayor thanked the JSE for their assistance and urged other organizations in the Downtown community to follow suit.  

The Chairman of the JSE, Mr. Curtis Martin, spoke to the fact that this presentation was in keeping with the JSE’s mission to be a good corporate citizen as the JSE is aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

On hand to witness this occasion were the JSE Board members, Mr. Curtis Martin (Chairman), Mr. Eddie McKie (Director), Miss Dian Black (Director), Mrs.  Marlene Street Forrest (GM), Town Clerk, Mr. Errol Greene and members of staff of the JSE and KSAC, along with representatives from the media. Mr. Robin Levy (Deputy GM, JSE and GM, JCSD) was the Master of Ceremony.
