JSE Investments & Capital Markets Conference 2011 – Presenter H.E. Mohinder Grover; Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica

        High Commissioner Mohinder Grover is a career Indian Diplomat – a member of elite Indian Foreign Service. Prior to joining the Diplomatic Service, he has served in the Internal Revenue Service and as an Executive in the financial sector in India. He is a Post Graduate in Science and Graduate in Law. His over 2½ decades in the Indian Foreign Service has taken him around the world. He has served in Tokyo, Moscow, London, Geneva, Seoul, and the Middle East.

 
While at Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in New Delhi, he has served as Director General and, among other responsibilities looked after multilateral diplomacy, issues related to the 25-million strong Indian Diaspora, and promotion of Indian culture abroad. He was also involved in establishment of a separate Ministry for the Indian Diaspora. (Earlier, Diaspora issues were handled by a Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.)
 
Prior to his coming to Kingston in July 2008, he was Ad joint Representative of India to the United Nations in Geneva (Ambassador’s rank), and represented India in over 22 International Organisations, dealing with diverse subjects ranging from Intellectual Property and Human Rights to HIV/AIDS, Disaster Management, Climate Change, refugees, and other humanitarian affairs. He is concurrently accredited to The Bahamas, The Cayman Islands, The Turks and Caicos Islands as well.
 
He plays Cricket and Golf, enjoys music, and is fond of reading.
