The Jamaica Stock Exchange’s 10th Regional Conference on Investments & the Capital Markets 2015
The Jamaica Stock Exchange is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Regional Conference on Investments and the Capital Markets. The event which will be held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, Kingston from January 20 – 22, 2015 will be under the theme “Regional Transformation Through Innovation & Investments”. This theme is of importance to us, because we believe that as we commit our efforts to the realization of Jamaica’s Vision 2030 and lay the foundation for growth, our success as a region will ultimately be measured by our innovative capacity.
The event is a unique forum for all constituents from across the different sectors of the economy to exchange views and develop strategies for engineering an environment to foster successful economic growth and development of these sectors, especially in these challenging times.
The objectives of the Conference are:
- To bring together key participants of all industries to discuss and present ideas on issues pertinent to the development of the sectors in the face of the global crises;
- To facilitate a forum for the development of strategies necessary for the future growth of all sectors in the region in spite of the challenges;
- To assist in the creation of partnerships and improve understanding between financial institutions and the other sectors to allow for new investment opportunities to emerge.
Some of the invited speakers are: Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Most Hon. Portia Simpson-Miller; Minister of Finance of India Hon. Arun Jaitley; Minister of Finance & Planning (Jamaica); Professor Jeffery Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute; Dr. The Hon. Peter Phillips, Minister of Finance; Heads of the regional stock exchanges, amongst others.
