Jamaica Stock Exchange Best Practices Awards 2011

2010 Governor General Award Winning Team – Pan Caribbean Financial Services Ltd

Who will walk away with the prestigious Governor General Award 2011?
The JSE will host its Eight Best Practices Awards ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. The Best Practices Awards were established by the Jamaica Stock Exchange to promote best practice standards within the financial services community. The major award categories include: Annual Report, Website, Corporate Disclosure and Investor Relations, Best Performing Company, the PSOJ /JSE Award for Corporate Governance and the coveted Governor General Award for Excellence given to the overall winner.
The winners of the JSE Best Practice Awards are selected based on the previous year’s information, so this year’s Awards will be based on the companies’ performances in 2011. The awards are selected on guidance and advice of a panel of judges comprised of members of the JSE as well as private and public sector financial specialists, headed by Chairman Professor Neville Ying, Executive Director of the Jamaica Diaspora Institute.
The past winners of the Governor General’s Award for Excellence have been GraceKennedy (2004), Dehring, Bunting and Golding (2005), Bank of Nova Scotia (2006), Pan Caribbean Financial Services and National Commercial Bank (2007), Pan Caribbean Financial Services and Scotia DBG Investments (2008), National Commercial Bank (2009) and Pan Caribbean Financial Services 2010. With consecutive ties in two years, it is anyone’s guess who will walk away with the 2011 prestigious Governor General’s Award.
