Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) has referenced an “Article posted on the Jamaica Observer online on May 7, 2019 entitled ‘JPS workers on strike; customers affected'”, and issued the following advisory:
“Please be advised advised that following a breakdown in discussions at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security between the JPS and representatives of the Union of Clerical Administrative & Supervisory Employees, the Minister of Labour and Social Security referred the dispute to the Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) on May 6, 2019 for resolution. Normalcy has been restored as the operations of the Company continue while the dispute is before the IDT”.
