Jamaica Producers Group Limited (JPG) has received an offer from Dole Food Company for the purchase of JPG’s 65% shareholding in JP Fruit Distributors Limited (JPFD). JPG must either accept this offer or reacquire Dole’s 35% shareholding in JPFD. JPFD’s principal activities are fresh fruit trading and banana ripening in the United Kingdom.
The JPG Board is scheduled to meet on October 2, 2006 at 2 p.m. to consider the offer and explore strategic options. An update will be provided after the Board meeting.
