Calabar High School on top in the JSE Stock Market Game sponsored by the Gleaner Company

Big movements at the top of both the Schools’ and Individuals’ Standings in the third season of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Game for High Schools sponsored by The Gleaner Company.
 
At the end of December 2010, former Champion Hillel Academy was in the lead. However, current champion Calabar High School has surged to the lead with a 42.23% gain in two months, which is led by Trevaughn Morris who made huge gains.
 
The third season of the JSE Stock Market Game for High Schools heats up as the former champions battled for supremacy. After a sluggish start, Calabar High moves from outside of the top ten schools in December to lead with a portfolio value of $284,518.81 or 42.23%. Campion College, which was in third place also made significant gains to move into second place as at February 21, 2011. Campion College’s portfolio value increased by $27,167 and now stands at $270,902.00. Former champion, Hillel Academy, moved down into third as a result of a marginal increase in their portfolio of $10,282 for a value of $254,017.
 
To complete the top five schools are: Mannings High School which was in second place in December but now is in fourth place with a portfolio value of $241,097, a $22,850 increase. In fifth place is Kingston College, which was also outside of the top ten in December, with a portfolio value of $213,265. First time entrant, Spanish Town High, is in ninth place, up one place from December 2010 with a portfolio value of $201,484.90. St. Jago High School, another St. Catherine based school, also made it into the top ten schools for this first time, while St. Andrew High for Girls and Port Antonio High fell out of the top ten list.
 
The Calabar High School pair of Trevaughn Morris and Shane Hylton currently occupy first and fourth places in the individual standings. Trevaughn’s portfolio grew by 53% in two months to stand at $153,222. In second place is Campion College’s Sherry Perrier who was in third place in December with a portfolio value of $146,808. Former leader Hillel Academy’s Giovanni Pritchard occupies third place with a portfolio value of $133,273.
 
The top five students are completed by Shane Hylton of Calabar High School who is in fourth place with a portfolio value $131,296 and Kingston College’s Lloyd Smalling in fifth place whose portfolio values $126,290.
 
There were major movements in top ten positions in the individual standings as three new students entered. They are the Calabar High School pair of Trevaughn Morris and Shane Hylton, Kingston College’s Lloyd Smalling. Dropping out of the top ten are, St. Hugh’s Sudeen Williams, Port Antonio High Carmella Layne and Wolmer’s Girls Kristeena Monteith.
