JSE e-CAMPUS CERTIFICATE COURSE:
CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT
The JSE e-Campus is a dynamic, web-based learning system where individuals attend Courses online. Lessons are interactive with video and audio clips from lecturers. Students are able view content material and e-books, do tests and interact with lecturers from anywhere at any time. In addition to the online component, students are also afforded the opportunity to interact with lecturers and peers in lively and intense face-to-face Sunday lecture sessions at least once per Course. To accommodate our distance students, the JSE e-Campus provides live streaming access of these face-to-face sessions. Additionally, all sessions (online and face-to-face) are recorded and made accessible within 24-hours on the e-Campus website for viewing at the student’s convenience.
There is a wide range of Courses currently being offered by the JSE e-Campus to meet the demands of the financial services sector, including a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services Management and various short-term Certificate Courses. The Credit Risk Management Certificate Course is one such Course.

COURSE OVERVIEW
The JSE e-Campus’ Certificate Course in Credit Risk Management is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of credit risk , how suck risk arises and how it can be quantified and managed.
Emphasis will be given to analysis of various types of organizational structures that can be used to effectively manage credit risk, as well as the employment of analytical techniques for the quantification of risk. Special emphasis will be placed on the use of methods employed internationally by rating agencies and other best practices and assessing the applicability of these in the local market.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
· Identify the differences between issuer and counterparty risk as it relates to traditional fixed income products versus that of derivatives;
· Know how to employ methods to validate a risk rating model to assess how well such models are able to predict delinquency/ default;
· Understand how to develop a credit risk rating model for credit scoring a retail loan or rating a corporate bond;
· Effectively manage credit risk in an organization via appropriate policies and procedures.

· At least one eight-hour face-to-face workshop;
· Final examination.
