JSE at the 42nd Annual IOSCO Conference in Montego Bay

The Honourable Fayval Williams, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service visits the JSE booth and is greeted by Neville Ellis, JSE's Marketing Manager.

The Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Jamaica has the distinct privilege and remarkable responsibility of hosting the 42nd Annual Conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), to be held for the first time in the Caribbean, under the title “The Role of Markets and Market Regulators in the Post-Crisis World”. The Conference is being held from May 14 – 18, 2017 at the Jamaica Conference Centre in Montego Bay.

The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is the international body that brings together the world’s securities regulators and is recognized as the global standard setter for the securities sector. IOSCO develops, implements and promotes adherence to internationally recognized standards for securities regulation.

The FSC recognizes the importance and value of achieving a globally consistent approach to securities regulation. As a developing country, Jamaica strives to remain aligned with IOSCO’s core objectives in an increasingly global financial market and economy.
