Dr. Carl Ross for JSE’s Conference

Prior to joining Oppenheimer in June of 2008, Carl was a Senior Managing Director and head of emerging markets fixed income research at Bear, Stearns & Co. He has spent most of his 20 year career following Latin American and Caribbean countries, where his research, while at Bear Stearns, had been recognized as industry-leading. Prior to Joining Bear Stearns in July of 1998, Carl was Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean at BT Alex Brown. He had been with Bankers Trust since 1989, where he was hired to provide country risk analysis in the bank’s credit department. Prior to joining Bankers Trust, he worked as an economic consultant to various organizations, including the World Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Carl has a Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor’s degree, also in economics, from Mount Allison University in Canada.
