The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is extending a special invitation to all residents and businesses of Portmore and its environs, to attend its Public Education Outreach Forum, scheduled to be held on Wednesday March 28, 2007, at the Portmore HEART Academy, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This initiative aims to educate the public on the role and functions of the Stock Exchange and how they can benefit from investment opportunities in the stock market.
Among the invited guests are:
- Mayor of Portmore George Lee, who is slated to give the opening address;
- Senior Director of Securities at the Financial Services Commission (FSC)
George Roper, who will discuss the statutes and regulations that exist to protect investors; - Representatives from the broker community will speak to the general issue of investing in stocks and stock broking.
