CIBC W.I. – Special Dividend

In view of the anticipated completion date of September 30, 2002 for the proposed combination of the Caribbean retail, corporate and offshore banking operations of Barclays Bank PLC and the company, the Board of the company will be considering the payment of a final dividend and a Special dividend at a meeting to be held on Thursday August 29, 2002.
