Berger Paints Jamaica Limited (BRG) has advised that the management is proposing to change its existing accounting year end to coincide with that of its parent company, Asian Paints Limited. This will provide uniformity in the financial reporting of the related companies. Accordingly, it is proposed that the accounting year end of Berger be changed from December 31 to March 31 (starting the year end March 31, 2010).
Berger has advised that the company has requested approval from the Taxpayer Audit & Assessment Department for the change and as soon as the approval is received it will be communicated. The company intends to have the change take effect as at December 31, 2009.
Berger has also advised that both the third and fourth quarter unaudited results will be published within 45 days of their period end.
