Stock Market Game for High Schools Season Two

Students, teachers and parents, look out for Mr. Stock in the next edition of Youthlink as he tracks the progress of students and schools in the 2010 Stock Market Game for High Schools.

Defending champion, Hillel Academy, will be trying to defend their title in this the second season against twenty other high schools. Participating for the first time are Calabar High, Herbert Morrison Technical High, Glenmuir High, Belair High, Guy’s Hill High, Holy Childhood High, Ardenne High, St. George’s College, Convent of Mercy Academy Alpha, Bellefield High and Merl Grove High.  Making their second appearance are last season’s second place finisher Campion College and third place finisher St. Jago High school. Also competing for the second season are Kingston College, St. Andrew High School for Girls, Hampton High, Port Antonio High, Munro College, St. Hugh’s High and Excelsior High.

This season, a mentor will support all participating schools. The mentors are professional traders who are representatives of JSE’s member dealers. These are Barita Investments Ltd., Capital & Credit Securities Ltd., Scotia DBG, First Global Financial Services Ltd., JMM Securities Ltd, Mayberry Investments Ltd., NCB Capital Market Ltd., Pan Caribbean Financial Services Ltd., Stocks and Securities Ltd., and VM Wealth Management Ltd.  Each mentor is assigned to two schools and will provide trading insights to both teachers and students as well as share their experiences as a professional trader.

The Gleaner Company is on board once again for the second season and LIME Jamaica Ltd. is also on board for the first time as a sponsor in what we hope will be a long and mutually beneficial partnership.
