Stephen Greig

Stephen Greig is the Managing Partner of Mills Bellamy Greig and holds an LL.B degree from the University of the West Indies and a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School. He was admitted to practice at the Jamaica Bar in 1992. Stephen legal practice includes Media, Entertainment, Intellectual Property, Conveyancing, Corporate and Commercial Law, Copyright, Patents and Trademarks. His experience includes that over nineteen (19) years’ as in-house Attorney-at-Law and Company Secretary for the RJR Communications Group which has involved research of complex legal issues, company secretarial duties for a company on the Jamaica Stock Exchange and managing the intellectual property portfolio for the largest media company in the English speaking Caribbean. Interacting directly with the Jamaica Intellectual Property Organization, Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica and other government regulatory agencies on matters concerning Intellectual property, company administration and broadcasting.

His corporate secretarial experience includes Company Secretary for overseeing all company secretary and legal duties for the group of companies that include five media entities: (Radio Jamaica Limited (RJR 94FM, FAME 95FM, HITS 92FM), also the boards for Television Jamaica Limited (TVJ), Reggae Entertainment Television Limited, Jamaica News Network Limited and Multi-Media Jamaica Limited).He also acted as company secretary for the Staff Pension Fund, the Finance Committee, the Audit Committee of Radio Jamaica Limited and Director for Multi-Media Jamaica Limited. He currently sits as Company Secretary for the 138 Student Living Ltd, KLE Group Limited and Everything Fresh Limited (listed companies on the Jamaica Stock Exchange) DRT Communications, SiFi Studios, Herboo Corporation, Coldbush Organics, Quikanet and the Kiwanis Club of Kingston Police Trust.

His experience includes management at a senior level involving strategic policy, marketing policies and direction for the company in the Jamaican and Caribbean diaspora. This experience is coupled with his previous role as an Associate in the Commercial Department of Nunes, Scholefield & Deleon, this afforded vast experience in a variety of areas both in trademarks, copyright and complex legal research for issues connected with trademarks, media, television, internet as well as corporate governance and connected regulatory matters. His experience also includes operations as General Manager of Reggae Entertainment Television (RETV) and Jamaica News Network (JNN) cable stations.

Among other associations, Stephen is a member of the PSOJ Corporate Governance Committee, American Bar Association- Entertainment & Sports Forum, Jamaica Bar Association Intellectual Property Committee, the Jamaica Bar Association Telecommunication, Broadcasting & Technology Committee, Jamaica Film and Television Association (JAFTA)
