Mr. Panth is Division Chief in the Western Hemisphere Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In the course of a Fund career spanning over a decade, Mr. Panth has worked in most regions of the world, with long stints spent on Russia and the former Soviet Union as well as East Asia. In recent years, he has been heading Fund missions to discuss economic policies, first to Oman in the Persian Gulf and more recently to countries in the Caribbean, including Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. Prior to joining the Fund, Mr. Panth taught economics at ColumbiaUniversity in New York. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He is married with two children.
