Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) has advised of the retirement of Mrs. Janice Grant Taffe as the Head of Group Legal, Trust & Corporate Services effective July 31, 2021. SJ further advised that Miss Sharma Taylor who joined the Group on June 1, 2021 will succeed her in this role with effect from August 1, 2021.
SJ also advised that with this appointment, Miss Taylor who will report to the Group President & CEO, will provide added capabilities to the Legal Team and more particularly, focus on the management of the complex commercial transactions as well as the legal and regulatory risks of the Group’s corporate strategies. SJ stated that, Miss Taylor comes to us with sixteen (16) years of proven track record in managing teams for the successful delivery of key organizational initiatives. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Law from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and Master of Laws Degree (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law as well as a Bachelors of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of the West Indies, Cavehill, Barbados.
SJ also advised that Mrs. Taffe will however continue to be the Company Secretary for SJ and its Subsidiaries.
