Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) has advised that as part of the strategic changes in their investment management operations, Mr Sean Newman has been appointed as Executive Vice President (EVP) & Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited. He will join the Group effective November 1, 2020.
“He will assume direct responsibility for the Group Treasury & Asset Management Division as well as Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited, and the heads of both divisions will report directly to him.
“Mr Newman will also give attention to broadening the Group’s investment offerings to its various client groups and strengthen the Group’s research capability. He will also play a significant role in planning the overall strategic direction of the Group’s future investments.
“Prior to joining the Sagicor Jamaica team, Mr. Newman spent fourteen (14) years with G.E. Asset Management in Stamford CT., USA and for the last seven (7) years was an Executive and Senior Portfolio Manager with Trillion US$ global fund managers, Invesco in Atlanta, GA, USA.
“Mr. Newman holds a BSc degree in management and accounting from the University of the West Indies in 1994 and his MBA from Howard University in 1998,” advised SJ.
