Radio Jamaica Limited (“RJR”) announced that it has reached an agreement with the operators of independent programme provider Nationwide News Network, (“NNN”) to deliver programming content on an upgraded RJR AM radio service effective May 2007.
On completion of the agreement RJR will maintain and provide engineering services on its AM band for the next five years, with NNN having an option of continuing the arrangement for a further five years. NNN will provide the editorial services and programming content, and will do its own marketing of the service.
The consideration for RJR in the agreement is a share of NNN revenues. In announcing the development, Deputy Managing Director of the RJR Communications Group, Gary Allen said the move was intended to ensure that all the group’s assets are put to work profitably for the company. “
