LIME exploring partnership to improve service

Cable and Wireless Jamaica Limited has advised that it has started exploratory talks with a global services firm regarding managing aspects of the Company`s operations as it seeks to dramatically improve service to its customers.
Managing Director – Jamaica and Cayman, Garfield Sinclair said “LIME Jamaica is focused on growing its business. We have been making significant investments in Jamaica over the past several years with the objective of strengthening our position as the leading innovator in telecoms in the market. We will launch digital Mobile TV before Christmas; we have been upgrading our broadband infrastructure to deliver a reliable super-fast-8-megabit service.
“These investments will count for little if we do not match it with similar investments in improving our processes and customer service. Partnering with world class players to achieve this objective makes solid business sense and its one of several options open to us which we are considering.”
Mr. Sinclair emphasized that no decision has been made with regard to any partnership. “We have been engaging with employees and our Union partners, even ahead of appointing a team to purse this project. Their views will play an important role in shaping the outcome of this project. Our approach is to be all inclusive and we are confident it will lead us to the best possible outcome.”
Following a series of discussions with key stakeholders including colleagues over the past week, a due diligence exercise will begin this week, involving a wide range of parties. It is expected to last up to two months, after which, decisions on the best way forward can be taken.
