JSE’s Best Practices Award

The Jamaica Stock Exchange will be hosting its 3rd Annual Best Practices Award Ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Sir Kenneth Hall and Her Excellency Mrs. Rhema Hall.

 

The JSE Best Practices Awards were established in 2004 by the Jamaica Stock Exchange. The following are the objectives of the Awards:

 OBJECTIVES:

 1.      To provide an avenue to recognize listed companies and stockbrokers, in the securities   industry, who uphold best practices standards;

2.      To enhance the relationship between the JSE and its stakeholders;

3.      To create an awareness of the standards for best practices in the areas to be adjudged.

 A fifteen-member Committee was established to act as a Judging Panel for the Awards.

 TERMS OF REFERENCE:

 The Committee agreed to the following Terms of Reference:

 The Best Practices Awards Committee will examine and develop criteria for each Award;

  1. Five sub-committees will establish the criteria for each Award;   
  2. The sub-committees will report to the main committee which will consider and if thought fit, ratify their decisions;
  3. The sub-committees will be able to co-op external members if deemed necessary.

Awards are to be made in the following categories:

  • JSE BEST PRACTICES ANNUAL REPORT AWARD

  • THE JSE BEST PRACTICES CORPORATE DISCLOSURE AND INVESTOR RELATIONS

·          JSE BEST PERFORMING COMPANY

  • BEST PRACTICES INVESTOR RELATIONS AWARD (STOCKBROKERAGES)

  • JSE BEST PRACTICES WEBSITE AWARD (TO INCLUDE STOCKBROKERAGES)
  • JSE BEST PRACTICES WEBSITE AWARD (TO INCLUDE LISTED COMPANY)
