BACKGROUND
“Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.” – Dwight D. Eisenhower
Leadership is also defined as “influencing people to get things done to a standard and quality above their norm – and doing it willingly.”
This course is designed to help participants pursue better ways to accomplish goals and to exhibit leadership behaviours that will breed success in themselves and others.
This one-day workshop is opened to all employers and employees who are involved in leadership at all levels, as well as persons who wish to enhance their own personal development.
Participants will earn credits towards JSE Intermediary Certification Programmes and will be entitled to discounts on future courses.
Course
STRUCTURE
This course will be presented using engaging and captivating techniques. It is taught using formal lecture sessions combined with case studies and group exercises to reinforce the concepts covered in each teaching session.
It has the advantage of using real-life case studies to demonstrate a range of possible outcomes of various techniques applied, as well as to give participants the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge.

Course
FACILITATOR
Dr. W. Stanley Beecham attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 1983. Stan then earned a Masters degree from AugustaCollege while working and conducting research at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital. In 1994, he earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. While reading for his Doctorate, he worked and taught at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Beecham completed his internship at the University of Virginia Counseling Center.
Dr. Beecham continued his career by founding the Sport Psychology Program for the University of Georgia Athletic Association. During his four years in Athens, he worked with teams and athletes who have gone on to win both Conference and National Championships. He also worked with members of the 1996 gold medal winning Women’s Gymnastics Team. Dr. Beecham remains a consultant to a variety of athletes and teams throughout the United States.
Since 1998, Dr. Beecham has focused his professional energies on assisting businesses to maximize their performance and potential through the selection and development of their management talent. He spends most of his time coaching and consulting with senior managers to develop themselves and their organizations.
Stan is the founding member and principal of the LeadershipResourceCenter located in Atlanta, GA. The LeadershipResourceCenter provides professional services and products to businesses and also supports them in the selection and development of their leaders and managers.
