(L-R): Michael Johnson, Deputy Group Business Development Manager; Suzette Whyte, Financial Controller; Neville Ellis, Manager, Marketing and Communications; Nora Blake, Manager Jamaica Social Stock Exchange and Andre Gooden, Group Business Development Manager.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) ‘rang the bell’ in support of World Investor Week to close off its own annual calendar event to educate the public about the stock market. The Bell Ringing Ceremony was held on October 8, 2021, with Mrs Suzette Whyte, JSE’s Financial Controller, extending greetings on behalf of the Exchange.

World Investor Week, a global campaign to to promote investor education and protection, underscores the JSE’s initiatives championing investors over the past 14 years, with its National Investor Education Week (NIEW) focus.  The Jamaica Stock Exchange recognizes that investors are very important to any stock market, and of such, they have to be recognized, and more importantly, be given as much knowledge about the market as possible so they are able to make informed decisions in their best interests.

This is why the Jamaica Stock Exchange launched its National Investor Education Week (NIEW) in 2007 and subsequently, each year, in collaboration with its corporate partners, makes the NIEW a calendar event to provide free education to the public on how to trade and invest successfully in the markets, investor protection and on the different products, services and expertise available to investors through its partners.
