Jamaica Broilers Group has advised that there will be a delay in processing of dividend payments due to be paid on Monday July 6, 2009 by the company.
The delay in the processing of the dividend cheques was as a result of awaiting a decision as to whether the announced new withholding tax on dividends payable to foreign resident shareholders would have come into effect and gazetted prior to the dividend payment date, since the company wished to ensure that any tax deductible by law from dividend payment was propertly deducted.
The Company expects that dividend cheques will be sent to shareholders between Tuesday July 7, and Wednesday July 8, 2009.
