(KINGSTON July 20, 2011):Mayberry Investments Limited is the lead Brokerage House in bringing small and medium sized companies to market. To date they have an 88% record of bringing companies to market or simple put they have brought 9 out of the 11 companies that are listed on the Junior Market, with the listing of Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) being the latest.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange’s General Manager, Mrs. Marlene Street Forrest, put the listing of CPJ in perspective. According to Mrs. Street Forrest, “today we are here to mark this special occasion; the listing of the eleventh company on the Junior Market. This is a significant moment for a relatively new market [the Junior Market], which started operation in April 2009, and this was surely no April’s fool joke, as today with the listing of Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited, a total of $1.53 Billion has been raised by small and medium sized companies using this medium, this is no mean feat. On the flip side of these fund raising successes are the investors who are also smiling, as, if an investor had bought shares in all of the 10 previously listed companies they would have seen returns of over 300%”.

She went on to tell the audience that “CPJ is the largest listing to date by way of the funds raised and the number of investors who subscribed. The Company raised over $428 million from the market bringing with them 1,338 shareholders. We congratulate CPJ, its Board of Directors, Management and Staff and all the hands which were on deck to achieve this. Going forward, so many shareholders and indeed other interested party will be anticipating the further expansion of CPJ based on its promises of:
ü Building a large Agro Processing plant to better supply its customers
ü Expanding international wine, spirit and drink offerings
ü Establishing CPJ Market retail stores in Kingston and
ü Hopefully to expand beyond Jamaica”.

Mr. Tom Tyler, CEO of CPJ, told the audience that he was quite pleased with the listing of CPJ on the Junior Market and congratulates the Minister of Finance, the Hounourable Audley Shaw, on the Junior Market initiative, which enables small and medium sized companies such as CPJ to raise capital to expand their businesses.
