Corporate Governance Index Workshop Rescheduled to November 28, 2017

Listed Companies meet on November 28, 2017, to prepare for CGI’s launch in December.

The Corporate Governance Workshop, which was scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2017, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and the workshop at 9:30 a.m.

The workshop will prepare  companies listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange for the launch of the Corporate Governance Index (CGI), a rating system that will benchmark their corporate governance.

Mrs. Marlene Street Forrest, JSE’s Managing Director, will be part of a team of experts at the workshop providing companies with the information they need to understand the Corporate Governance Index.  Among the important areas to be covered by Mrs. Street Forrest is how the index will be published in the media.

“As the market moves to strengthen its corporate governance, everyone will benefit from the increased transparency, expected capital inflows and an overall robustness of market activities,” Mrs. Street Forrest said. “We  strongly encourage every company on the Stock Exchange to attend at this special sensitization session as we work together for the launch of this very progressive initiative.”
