Jamelia Jalaalwalikraam is currently employed at NCB Capital Markets as a Research Analyst. She has been an Analyst for just over 3 years and holds an MSc in Economics from the University of West Indies, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance & Banking, and a minor in Economics from the University of the Technology.
Jamelia’s interest in research and economics, and her desire to understand financial markets led her to a career in financial research where she has been able to use both to conduct analyses on investment securities and financial markets to guide in-house and client investment decision-making.
In addition to her aspirations to contribute to greater capital market development, Jamelia hopes to be a change agent in the country’s journey to greater economic development.
She lives by the philosophy “a ship is safe at harbour, but that is not what ships are for”, as a reminder to continue to challenge herself, pursue her goals, and strive for excellence in all her endeavours.
