CIBC (Ja.) – New Name

Following an Extraordinary General Meeting held on August 21, 2002, the company has received shareholders approval to change the name of the company to First Caribbean International Bank Jamaica Limited, which is one of the conditions to the completion of the proposed combination of the Caribbean retail, corporate and offshore banking operations of Barclays Bank PLC (“Barclay”) with that of CIBC West Indies Holdings Limited (“CIBC West Indies”) and its subsidiaries, including CIBC Jamaica, to create First Caribbean International Bank Limited (“First Caribbean).
