Barita Investments Limited (BIL) has advised that the Company filed an application in the Supreme Court on March 1, 2021, for an order to be permitted to host its 43rd Annual General Meeting, virtually (the “Substantive Claim”) on Friday, April 23, 2021, pursuant to Section 130 (20 of the Companies Act.
BIL further advised that ahead of the Substantive Claim, the Supreme Court on March 18, 2021, granted permission for BIL to give notice to its members, with respect to the below-mentioned documents (“Court Documents”), herein attached, filed in the Supreme Court, by publishing the Court Documents on the Company’s website and/or the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s website.
The Company is also required to publish a notice on two (2) occasions in one of the national newspapers, advising its members that the Court Documents can be found on the aforementioned websites.
