Ms. Nora Blake, JP, MBA

Ms. Nora Blake joined the JSE in 2018.

Nora the Social Entrepreneur who executed the launch of the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE), is a local pioneer in the area of Social Entrepreneurship.

She holds a BSc Degree in Natural Sciences with a minor in Commercial Law from the U.W.I. She is a member of the first MBA cohort for Social Entrepreneurship at the University College of the Caribbean(UCC).

As Special Advisor-Technical Officer in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC) with special interest in the MSME and Entrepreneurship Policy, she facilitated and provided oversight for the first ever Inner City Entrepreneurship Expo, highlighting Trench Town as “a place to do business” in an effort to rebrand the iconic community. At MIIC she also coordinated the draft of a Bamboo Policy for the emerging industry and was a member of the Steering Committee overseeing the setting up of the local Bamboo Industry Association of Jamaica (BIAJ).

She is the current President of the Optimist Club of Trench Town, served on the boards of the Agency for Innercity Renewal (AIR) and the Toll Authority of Jamaica.

In 2011 she received the NCB NATION BUILDER Award, and in 2012 during the Jamaica 50 Special Celebrations, she was awarded a Special Prime Minister’s Medal of Appreciation for contribution to Community Development.

Nora is also a Justice of the Peace.
