Mrs. Marlene Street Forrest is the Managing Diretcor of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and her mandate is to continue the process of developing the business of the JSE. She has made and continues to make an exceptional contribution to the development of Jamaica’s capital markets and economy.
For the last 15 years her tireless and innovative work and leadership at the JSE has been to champion the strengthening of investor protection, improving financial literacy, enhancing funding for small and medium-sized business and improving regional cooperation as a means of channelling foreign direct investments into the Caribbean. Innovations at the JSE under her stewardship have so far included the establishment of the JSE Junior Market, Online Trading, the e-Campus, the Stock Market Game for High Schools and the US dollar market as well as new JSE offerings to the financial services industry, such as Registrar and Trustee Services.
Mrs. Street Forrest holds a MBA in Business Administration degree as well as a B.Sc. in Management Studies. She is the Company Secretary for the JSE, serves on the Board of Directors of the Jamaica Central Securities Depository (JCSD) as well as the JCSD Trustee Service Limited (both subsidiaries of the JSE) and is also a Justice of the Peace.
Mrs. Street Forrest was awarded the Order of Distinction in the Rank of Commander for outstanding leadership in the growth of Exchange on Monday, October 17, 2016.
This award follows the JSE’s stock price increasing by over 1000% in 2015 and also being acclaimed the Number One Performing Stock Exchange in the World, for that year, by Bloomberg.
